At Ride of Honor, one of our most meaningful traditions is partnering with the Tar River Piecemakers Quilt Guild to present Quilts of Valor®—a heartfelt tribute recognizing veterans for their service and sacrifice. In 2025, we have been privileged to honor three remarkable veterans, each with a powerful story of courage, duty, and commitment to our nation.
Honoring Three American Heroes
Irvin "Buck" Price
At 100 years old, Mr. Price is a United States Navy World War II Veteran who served from 1943–1946 as a Seaman First Class. During D-Day, he made three round trips between ship and shore under heavy enemy fire, transporting equipment and troops to the beach. On the return trips, he carried wounded and fallen soldiers back to the ships—an extraordinary act of bravery that exemplifies selfless service.
Randy Langloss
Mr. Langloss served our country with distinction in the U.S. Air Force from 1979–1986, and continued his service as an Air Force Officer from 1986–2000. A Cold War Veteran, he served in Operations Desert Shield, Desert Storm, Iraqi Freedom, and Enduring Freedom, dedicating decades to protecting our nation across multiple eras of conflict.
Jerry Mott Jr.
Mr. Mott served in the U.S. Army from 1987–1995 as a Military Police Officer. A Cold War and Gulf War Veteran, he took part in Desert Shield and Desert Storm, upholding security, order, and leadership during critical operations.
Wrapped in Gratitude
Each Quilt of Valor is more than fabric and thread—it’s a symbol of gratitude, comfort, and recognition from a thankful community. We are deeply grateful to the Tar River Piecemakers Quilt Guild for their craftsmanship and compassion, and for continuing to help us honor those who served.
We thank Mr. Price, Mr. Langloss, and Mr. Mott for their service, sacrifice, and enduring legacy. More Quilt of Valor presentations are planned, and we look forward to continuing this meaningful tradition—one quilt, one veteran, and one powerful story at a time.
